Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, food engineering, or related field
  • Five years of relevant experience in baking process technology evaluation and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in root cause and statistical analysis
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 90% of the time, including occasional weekends
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills
  • Capability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain professionalism under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, food engineering, or related field
  • Five years of experience evaluating baking process technologies and troubleshooting
  • Experience in root cause and statistical analysis for continuous improvement
  • Ability to present detailed data analysis reports to plant or engineering management
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cohesively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to drive projects with urgency and professionalism
  • Strong problem solving skills based on root cause and statistical analysis
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinking
  • Leadership skills including feedback use, partnership building, and enthusiasm for challenges
  • Understanding of business and organizational culture adaptation

Job Duties

  • Support assigned bakeries in ingredient, formula, process baking technology, and continuous improvement with focus on finished product quality, consistency, and safety
  • Troubleshoot bakery issues and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented
  • Support marketing, R&D, and engineering trials on new formulas, ingredients, and technologies
  • Coordinate with operations to drive scale-up and commercialization of new products and cost saving projects
  • Monitor quality post-launch and modify formula or process as needed
  • Address product quality concerns, consumer complaints, and waste reduction efforts using continuous improvement and statistical tools
  • Participate as key baking technical resource on process and equipment modifications
  • Coach and train bakery associates on ingredient functionality, equipment, and baking processes
  • Complete and update product code books for key launches
  • Conduct formula audits and follow up on corrective actions
  • Lead productivity initiatives with finance, procurement, engineering, and operations
  • Document trip results and summarize follow-ups to operations team
  • Travel domestically 80-90% of the time with occasional weekend work
  • Perform other assignments as needed
