Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • less than twelve months of experience in baking or pastry work
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • physical capability to lift items weighing less than 25 lbs unassisted
  • ability to extend arms, bend, twist, pull, and stoop
  • capability to work on slippery or uneven surfaces like stairs or slopes
  • adherence to food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • attainment of a high school diploma or a GED credential
  • less than twelve months of related exposure in baking, pastry work, or kitchen settings
  • ability to follow recipes and presentation standards
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation protocols
  • basic proficiency in operating baking equipment and kitchen appliances
  • good teamwork and communication skills
  • willingness to learn and take guidance from supervisors

Job Duties

  • adhere to set recipes and presentation standards when making and baking pastries, bread, desserts, and various baked goods
  • scale, combine, allocate, and arrange the necessary ingredients for the daily baking tasks
  • properly handle and manage baking equipment and instruments to ensure safety
  • oversee the operation of ovens and kitchen devices to guarantee the correct cooking timings and temperatures
  • comply with regulations concerning food safety and sanitation protocols, such as appropriate food storage, maintaining personal cleanliness, and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen area
  • follow kitchen guidelines for setting up and dismantling workstations
  • guarantee consistent food quality and standards with each batch prepared throughout the working period
  • ensure the bakery/kitchen area is consistently clean, safe, and properly organized to promote a healthy workspace
  • interact in a professional manner with colleagues and visitors when necessary
  • assist co-workers and play a part in creating a supportive team culture
  • fulfill any additional assignments and tasks as delegated by supervisors
