Job Requirements

  • Attainment of a high school diploma or a GED credential
  • Less than twelve months of related experience in baking, pastry work, or kitchen settings
  • Ability to stand, stroll, or stay seated for extended time
  • Ability to transport, lift, push, or pull items up to 25 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to extend arms above and below shoulder level
  • Ability to bend, twist, pull, and stoop
  • Ability to work on slick or uneven surfaces such as staircases or slopes
  • Willingness to comply with health and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Attainment of a high school diploma or a GED credential
  • Less than twelve months of related exposure in baking, pastry work, or kitchen settings
  • Ability to follow recipes and safety guidelines
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Physical stamina for standing and moving for extended periods
  • No licenses or certifications required
  • No past supervisory roles necessary

Job Duties

  • Adhere to set recipes and presentation standards when making and baking pastries, bread, desserts, and various baked goods
  • Scale, combine, allocate, and arrange the necessary ingredients for the daily baking tasks
  • Properly handle and manage baking equipment and instruments to ensure safety
  • Oversee the operation of ovens and kitchen devices to guarantee the correct cooking timings and temperatures
  • Comply with regulations concerning food safety and sanitation protocols, such as appropriate food storage, maintaining personal cleanliness, and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen area
  • Follow kitchen guidelines for setting up and dismantling workstations
  • Guarantee consistent food quality and standards with each batch prepared throughout the working period
  • Ensure the bakery/kitchen area is consistently clean, safe, and properly organized to promote a healthy workspace
  • Interact in a professional manner with colleagues and visitors when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and play a part in creating a supportive team culture
  • Fulfill any additional assignments and tasks as delegated by supervisors
