Job Requirements

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures
  • regular and consistent attendance
  • ability to work well with other team members and managers
  • communicate effectively with guests
  • able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • able to work long periods standing
  • internship availability for a 15-week trimester period
  • must arrive within two weeks of trimester start and leave at trimester end
  • 30-40 hours per week availability
  • limited positions based on housing availability

Job Qualifications

  • One year of experience in restaurant and pastry or culinary education in baking and pastry
  • basic kitchen operations experience
  • basic bread and plated dessert experience
  • ability to read and understand recipes using different measuring systems
  • effective communication with multiple shifts and teams
  • ability to convert recipes for larger and smaller batches
  • strong judgment and decision-making skills based on job knowledge and company goals
  • ability to work well in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bakeshop
  • communicating all pastry-specific supplies and equipment needs
  • proper rotation and monitoring of raw and finished products
  • proper following of dessert production rotation
  • proper wrapping and storage of all pastry products
  • completing weekly ice cream inventory
  • setting up pastry line for nightly dessert plating
  • baking fresh bread throughout nightly service
  • cookie production and scooping
  • baking arrival amenities for housekeeping
  • assisting with cake requests
  • assisting with In Room Dining Production and Dogwood dessert production
  • retrieving daily order form for Main House dinner needs
  • aiding in recipe and menu development
  • creating special requests and dietary desserts for Three Sisters lunch
  • maintaining awareness of upcoming events through a scheduled event chart
  • learning about heirloom vegetables and fruits
  • incorporating garden produce into desserts
