Job Requirements
- basic mathematical skills
- ability to understand and follow complex verbal instructions
- stable work and educational history
- proficiency in reading and writing English including all related job documentation
- good interpersonal communication abilities
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior food service or retail experience preferred
- prior experience operating department equipment preferred
- minimum age of 18 to operate certain equipment
- ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, moving carts and equipment, standing for up to 8 hours
- ability to work in variable temperature environments including heat and cold
- commitment to adhering to all health and safety regulations

- prior experience in related job roles preferred
- prior experience operating deli/bakery equipment such as balers, case cutters, pallet jacks, intercoms, pricing guns, slicers, scales, cash registers, steam tables, wrappers, fryers, and stoves preferred with age requirement of 18 years or older to operate certain machinery
Job Duties
- creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
- baking various bakery items including breads, rolls, cakes, pies, pastries, and brownies
- wrapping, packaging, and selling bakery and deli products
- accurately recording customer orders for cakes and bakery items
- processing customer purchases quickly and accurately using register, scanner, and scale
- reviewing department communication boards for updates and sampling program guidelines
- preparing and organizing cooler, freezer, and preparation area for merchandise receipt
- verifying merchandise against invoices and inspecting for shortages, damage, and quality
- adhering to health codes and cleaning department areas and equipment
- moving and stocking merchandise, including rotating and face/fronting product
- maintaining safety by practicing store safety rules and promptly addressing hazards
- operating equipment including balers, case cutters, pallet jacks, slicers, ovens, fryers, and more with age restrictions where applicable
- evaluating product quality and managing markdowns or re-processing goods
- checking and recording case and cooler/freezer temperatures multiple times daily
- reporting out-of-stock conditions promptly
- replenishing inventory in deli/bakery display cases and counters
- performing miscellaneous tasks and substitutions as assigned
