Job Duties
- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes
- recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare and mix ingredients per recipe using kitchen utensils and equipment
- package, label and inventory ingredients
- check product quality and freshness
- properly use kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, steamers
- label, stock and inventory merchandise
- report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager
- locate products upon customer request
- stay informed on current and seasonal ads
- maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions
- monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers
- adhere to all food safety regulations
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- inspect equipment and report repair needs
- notify management of accidents
- work cooperatively in high-paced settings
- manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively
- act with honesty and integrity
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- provide support for minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
