- Experience in bakery or deli preferred
- Retail experience preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to customers and assist with product discovery
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials and recommend items
- Provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Use all bakery equipment including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates
- Properly use kitchen tools such as stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to management
- Locate products within the store and stay current with ads and promotions
- Maintain knowledge of department products to respond to customer questions
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance and logging in cases and coolers
- Promote a respectful and welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures
- Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment repair needs
- Notify management of any customer or employee accidents
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
