Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review "sell by" dates
- Use kitchen equipment safely including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robot coupe
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
- Locate products for customers
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions
- Monitor inventory and temperature conditions
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment
- Report customer or employee accidents
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity
- Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
- Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
