Job Duties

  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new products
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • Provide customers with fresh products with correct portion sizes
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs
  • Use bakery equipment following company guidelines
  • Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • Check product quality and review sell-by dates
  • Operate kitchen equipment including stove, slicer, fryer, etc.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies
  • Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products
  • Stay current with seasonal and special promotions
  • Gain knowledge of products to respond to questions and make suggestions
  • Maintain awareness of inventory and note discrepancies
  • Ensure proper temperatures in display cases and maintain logs
  • Promote a respectful and trustworthy environment among associates
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers
  • Adhere to food safety regulations
  • Comply with and promote safety procedures
  • Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
  • Notify management of accidents
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
  • Support customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without accommodations
