Job Duties
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment
- Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals
- Monitor established quality assurance standards
- Demonstrate company core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety
- Prepare bakery or deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to customers
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide fresh products with correct portion sizes
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- Operate bakery equipment including refrigerators, freezers, slicers and ovens
- Follow food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell by dates
- Properly use kitchen equipment such as stoves, fryers and steamers
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies
- Understand store layout and locate requested products
- Stay current with advertising and promotional information
- Maintain product knowledge to answer questions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Ensure proper temperatures and maintain temperature logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and report repairs needed
- Notify management of accidents
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity
- Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
