Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
  • offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • provide fresh products with correct portion sizes
  • recommend deli or bakery items to customers
  • use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
  • prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
  • properly use kitchen equipment such as stove, fryer, steamer, and slicer
  • label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
  • assist customers in locating products
  • stay current with seasonal and special ads
  • maintain knowledge of department products and respond to customer inquiries
  • monitor inventory and stocking conditions
  • ensure proper temperatures in cases and maintain temperature logs
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create a welcoming environment for customers
  • adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
  • comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report needed repairs
  • notify management of accidents
  • work cooperatively in high-paced environments
