Job Duties
- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide fresh products with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise
- Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
- Use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and slicers
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to management
- Locate products for customers within the store layout
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain knowledge of products to answer questions and make suggestions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance and logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues
- Notify management of accidents
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
