Job Duties
- create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customer loyalty
- assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals
- monitor all established quality assurance standards
- embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service
- prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens according to guidelines
- prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality and review sell by dates
- properly use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
- label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
- locate products when requested by customers
- stay current with ads and promotions
- maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to questions
- monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment that makes customers feel important
- adhere to food safety regulations
- reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
- practice preventive equipment maintenance
