Job Duties

  • create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
  • establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customer loyalty
  • assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals
  • monitor all established quality assurance standards
  • embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
  • offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • recommend deli or bakery items to customers
  • use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens according to guidelines
  • prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • check product quality and review sell by dates
  • properly use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
  • label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
  • locate products when requested by customers
  • stay current with ads and promotions
  • maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to questions
  • monitor inventory and stocking conditions
  • ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create a welcoming environment that makes customers feel important
  • adhere to food safety regulations
  • reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
  • practice preventive equipment maintenance
  • notify management of accidents
  • work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
  • manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
