Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery and deli items to customers
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens
- Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates
- Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, scale, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies
- Locate products within the store as requested
- Stay current with promotional ads
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Ensure proper temperatures and maintain temperature logs
- Promote respect and trust among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
- Report accidents
- Work cooperatively in high-paced environment
