Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide fresh products with correct portion size to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery and deli items to customers
- Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Maintain food safety and quality assurance standards
- Label, stock, and inventory merchandise accurately
- Monitor product quality and take action on sell-by dates
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to management
- Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products
- Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and notify of repairs
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Handle conflict in a nonconfrontational manner
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
