Job Duties

  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
  • Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines
  • Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and instructions
  • Measure, prepare and mix ingredients per recipes
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • Check product quality and freshness and review sell by dates
  • Properly use kitchen equipment such as stove, fryer, and steamer
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
  • Locate products when requested by customers
  • Stay current with all department promotions and ads
  • Maintain knowledge of department products to respond to customer questions
  • Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed
  • Report customer or employee accidents
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage conflict nonconfrontationally
  • Act with honesty and integrity
  • Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
