Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers
- Use all bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods following food temperature logs and baking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory bakery merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates
- Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and scale
- Stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies
- Locate requested products for customers
- Stay current with ads and promotions
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products to respond to customer questions and make suggestions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions for discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Follow all food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Display a positive attitude
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs
- Notify management of accidents or unsafe conditions
- Report safety risks and illegal activities
