Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous retail or customer service experience preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • must be able to stand for extended periods
  • physical ability to lift and carry bakery items
  • obtain food handlers permit after employment
  • adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • reliable and punctual

Job Duties

  • Prepare items per customer requests using bakery equipment
  • offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • inform customers of bakery specials
  • provide fresh products with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • recommend bakery items to customers
  • use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens
  • prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • package, label and inventory ingredients
  • check product quality and sell-by dates
  • properly use kitchen equipment including stove, scale, fryer, steamer
  • label, stock and inventory department merchandise
  • report ordering and shipping discrepancies
  • locate products for customers
  • stay current with ads and promotions
  • maintain product knowledge
  • monitor inventory and stocking conditions
  • ensure proper temperatures and logs
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create a welcoming environment for customers
  • adhere to food safety regulations
  • comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
  • display a positive attitude
  • perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • report employee or customer accidents
  • report safety risks, illegal activity, theft or fraud
  • perform essential functions with or without accommodation
