Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous retail or food service experience helpful but not required
- Ability to follow food safety rules
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must pass background check and drug screening

Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients
- Check product quality and review 'sell by' dates
- Use kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers properly
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering/shipping discrepancies
- Locate products when requested
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain product knowledge to respond to customer questions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and log maintenance
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Display a positive attitude
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Notify management of accidents or safety risks
- Report illegal activities
