Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service or food handling preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Willingness to stand for extended periods
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to use bakery equipment safely
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to obtain food handler's permit once hired

Job Duties
- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking/baking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates
- Properly use kitchen equipment such as stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to department manager
- Locate products when requested by customers
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Gain and maintain product knowledge
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
- Display positive attitude
- Perform preventive maintenance and notify manager of equipment needing repair
- Report accidents, safety risks, illegal activity
- Perform essential functions with or without accommodation
