Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
- Recommend bakery items to customers to meet their needs
- Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
- Properly use kitchen equipment like stove, fryer, steamer, computerized scale
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to department manager
- Understand store layout and locate products for customers
- Stay current with seasonal, special and future ads
- Gain and maintain product knowledge to respond to questions and make suggestions
- Maintain inventory and stocking conditions, note discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintain logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
- Display a positive attitude
- Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment needs
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Report all safety risks, illegal activity including theft or fraud
- Must perform essential functions with or without accommodation
