Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to management
- Understand store layout to assist customers
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain knowledge of bakery products to respond to customer inquiries
- Monitor inventory and stock conditions
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance and logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Display a positive attitude
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs
- Notify management of accidents
