Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
  • inform customers of bakery specials
  • provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes
  • recommend bakery items based on customer needs
  • use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
  • prepare foods according to food temperature logs and recipes
  • measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • check product quality and review sell-by dates
  • properly use kitchen equipment including stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
  • label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • report ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
  • understand store layout and locate products for customers
  • stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
  • maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions
  • monitor inventory and stocking conditions
  • ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions
  • adhere to food safety regulations
  • comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • display a positive attitude
  • perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues
  • notify management of accidents
  • report all safety risks and illegal activities
  • perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
