Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • inform customers of bakery specials
  • provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • recommend bakery items to customers
  • use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens
  • prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes
  • package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • check product quality and review sell-by dates
  • operate kitchen equipment like scales, fryers, and steamers
  • stock and inventory department merchandise
  • report ordering and shipping discrepancies
  • locate products requested by customers
  • stay current with advertisements and promotions
  • gain knowledge of bakery products to answer questions
  • monitor inventory and stocking conditions
  • maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create welcoming customer environment
  • adhere to food safety regulations
  • comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
