Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens
- prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes
- package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality and review sell-by dates
- operate kitchen equipment like scales, fryers, and steamers
- stock and inventory department merchandise
- report ordering and shipping discrepancies
- locate products requested by customers
- stay current with advertisements and promotions
- gain knowledge of bakery products to answer questions
- monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create welcoming customer environment
- adhere to food safety regulations
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
