Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- package, label, and inventory bakery ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates
- use kitchen equipment like stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
- stock and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
- locate products requested by customers
- stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- maintain knowledge of products sold in the department
- monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
- display a positive attitude
- inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report repair needs
- notify management of accidents
- report safety risks and illegal activity
- perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
