Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous retail or bakery experience helpful
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to lift and handle bakery products safely
- excellent communication skills
- attention to detail and organizational skills
- ability to follow food safety guidelines
- must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- ability to obtain food handler's permit after employment

Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to help customers discover new bakery items
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
- recommend bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, ovens according to guidelines
- prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
- measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates
- use kitchen equipment including stove, scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
- label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering or shipping discrepancies
- understand store layout to locate products upon customer request
- stay updated with current, seasonal, and special ads
- maintain product knowledge and respond to questions
- monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers
- adhere to food safety regulations
- reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions
- display a positive attitude
- perform preventive maintenance and report equipment needs
- notify management of accidents
- report safety risks or illegal activities
- perform essential functions with or without accommodation
