Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment like refrigerators, freezers, and ovens following company guidelines
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients following recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates
- Use kitchen equipment such as stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering or shipping discrepancies to department manager
- Locate products in store when requested by customers
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain knowledge of bakery products and respond to customer questions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers with maintained logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create welcoming, respectful environment for customers
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Follow safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Notify management of any accidents
- Report safety risks and illegal activities
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
