Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous retail or food service experience a plus
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to understand and follow food safety guidelines
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members
- Must obtain food handler's permit shortly after hire

Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
- Recommend bakery items to ensure customers get what they want
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates
- Use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and scales properly
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering or shipping discrepancies
- Locate products within the store upon customer request
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products to respond to customer questions
- Maintain inventory and stock conditions
- Ensure proper case and cooler temperatures are maintained
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Display a positive attitude
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on equipment
- Report accidents and safety risks
- Report illegal activities including theft or fraud
- Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
