Job Duties
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions and providing exceptional service
- Gain and maintain knowledge of bakery products to respond accurately and make suggestions
- Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- Prepare bakery items including wedding cakes using proper equipment
- Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery goods
- Check product freshness and quality by reviewing sell by dates and taking necessary actions
- Label, stock, sign, and inventory bakery merchandise
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company standards
- Maintain store layout knowledge to assist customers in locating products
- Enforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management
- Perform preventive equipment maintenance and report issues to appropriate manager
- Report any safety risks, illegal activity, or accidents promptly
