Job Duties
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- establish and maintain a safe and clean environment
- assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals
- monitor all established quality assurance standards
- gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
- offer product samples to customers
- prepare bakery items including wedding cakes per customer requests
- recommend bakery items to customers
- check product quality to ensure freshness
- review sell by dates and take appropriate action
- decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
- label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- understand the store's layout and locate products when requested
- stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- maintain awareness of inventory and note discrepancies
- adhere to all health and civil code regulations
- ensure compliance with merchandising, customer service, labor control, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, and food safety rules
- reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions
- practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment
- report safety risks, illegal activity, and accidents to management
- perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
