Job Duties

  • Promote trust and respect among associates

  • gain and maintain product knowledge within the department
  • prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment
  • offer product samples to help customers discover new items
  • inform customers of bakery specials
  • provide fresh products with correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage
  • recommend bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction
  • use all bakery equipment according to guidelines
  • prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • package, label and inventory ingredients
  • check product freshness and review sell-by dates
  • properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, slicers and ovens
  • stock and inventory department merchandise
  • report product ordering/shipping discrepancies
  • display a positive attitude
  • understand store layout to assist customers
  • stay updated with current and seasonal promotions
  • maintain inventory awareness and note discrepancies
  • adhere to food safety regulations
  • ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers with maintained logs
