Job Duties
- create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
- establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return
- assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department
- monitor all established quality assurance standards
- embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service
- demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety
- prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
- adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates
- properly use kitchen equipment like stove, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
- label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering/shipping discrepancies
- display a positive attitude
- locate products requested by customers
- stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- maintain inventory/stocking condition awareness
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and logs
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying of repairs
- report customer or employee accidents and any illegal activity such as robbery, theft or fraud
- perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
