Job Duties

  • create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
  • establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return
  • assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department
  • monitor all established quality assurance standards
  • embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety
  • prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products
  • inform customers of bakery specials
  • provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • recommend bakery items to customers
  • use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines
  • prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates
  • properly use kitchen equipment like stove, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
  • label, stock and inventory department merchandise
  • report product ordering/shipping discrepancies
  • display a positive attitude
  • locate products requested by customers
  • stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • maintain inventory/stocking condition awareness
  • adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and logs
  • comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying of repairs
  • report customer or employee accidents and any illegal activity such as robbery, theft or fraud
  • perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
