Job Duties
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products
- gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer inquiries
- prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrink
- recommend bakery items to customers
- use all equipment in bakery according to company guidelines
- prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
- properly prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality and review sell by dates
- properly use kitchen equipment
- label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to department manager
- display a positive attitude
- understand the store layout and locate products when requested
- stay current with store ads
- maintain inventory awareness and note discrepancies
- adhere to all food safety regulations
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and maintain logs
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- practice preventive maintenance of equipment
- notify management of accidents
- report all safety risks or illegal activity
- perform essential functions with or without accommodation
