Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Minimum one year experience in career related field
  • Food handler certification preferred
  • Valid New York State driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in hot and hectic environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use computer and POS system
  • Strong attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Follow and execute recipes
  • Measure and combine ingredients and use mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, etc
  • Decorate and display finished products
  • Greet customers, answer questions, make recommendations, accept orders and payments, and provide exceptional customer service
  • Clean and restock workstations and ensure that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift
  • Keep product stocked for daily operations
  • Manage supplies and preparation
  • communicate to staff when order supplies is necessary
  • Keep storage, preparation and working areas clean and orderly
  • Work as a team member with other bakery, WAY and agency staff
  • Contribute usable information concerning specialty area
  • Cash out customers and make change correctly
  • Demonstrate accountability for cash drawer, etc
  • Attend regularly scheduled supervision meetings and staff development training as needed
  • Attend in-service training as needed
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret recipes and customer order forms
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints, or understand when to consult management for assistance
  • Ability to appropriately interact with, monitor and assess, and transfer skills to employees
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials related to trades
  • Working knowledge of POS System
  • Strong communication, time and resource management, and planning skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, especially when performing quality inspections on ingredients and products
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Willingness to work independently or with other team members to solve problems, plan schedules, fulfill orders, and create amazing baked goods
  • Flexibility to work around customer demands, including early morning, night, weekend and holiday availability
  • Ability to work in hot, hectic environment, stand, walk, bend, use hands and appliances, and lift heavy items for extended periods
