Job Requirements

  • Firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • minimum one year of full-time equivalent bakery production experience or culinary certification/degree from an accredited culinary school
  • physical exam and lift test
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times daily
  • willingness to work in varying temperature and occasionally wet environments
  • capacity to work at heights or in awkward positions
  • worthy to hold a current temple recommend for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Job Qualifications

  • Firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • minimum of one year of full-time equivalent bakery production experience or a culinary certification/degree from an accredited culinary school
  • preferred five years of full-time equivalent bakery production experience or culinary certification/degree
  • ability to supervise part-time and student employees
  • completion of food safety training
  • proficiency in inventory and ordering systems

Job Duties

  • Learn bakery standard operations procedures
  • production of cakes, breads, cookies and desserts for campus dining operations
  • prepare and organize orders
  • utilize computerized inventory/ordering system to establish production schedules
  • verify product inventories
  • completing training and food safety courses per CSC requirements
  • cleaning and sanitizing bakery equipment and preparation surfaces
  • supervise part-time and student employees
