Job Requirements

  • a firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • 1 year of full-time equivalent bakery production experience or a culinary certification/degree from an accredited culinary school
  • physical exam and lift test
  • ability to lift 20-50 lbs frequently
  • ability to work in variable temperatures
  • members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend

Job Duties

  • learn bakery standard operations procedures
  • production of cakes, breads, cookies and desserts for campus dining operations
  • prepare and organize orders
  • utilize computerized inventory/ordering system to establish production schedules
  • verify product inventories
  • complete training and food safety courses per CSC requirements
  • clean and sanitize bakery equipment and preparation surfaces
  • supervise part-time and student employees
