Job Requirements

  • Four years of experience related to the job assignment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • State Food Safety certified or ability to obtain appropriate certification within 6 months of hire
  • Must maintain State Food Safety certification for duration of employment
  • Ability to work in a team-driven environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of pastry and bread production
  • Availability to work early mornings, nights and weekends as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in fast-paced high-volume university or institutional bakery production preferred
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience is preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide and ensure customer service standards are met in assigned functional area
  • Offer recommendations and solutions to the Executive Culinary team to improve daily operations of functional area
  • Actively contribute to menu development with Executive Culinary team, including oversight of inventory and recommending purchasing needs
  • Serve on the food safety response team and respond to food safety emergencies
  • Assist in culinary staff selection, training and onboarding
  • Create standardized operating procedures and staff training methods
  • Empower staff to make decisions within their span of control
  • Ensure employees follow schedule and break times and proper time-off procedures
  • Manage performance of direct reports and conduct performance reviews
  • Follow progressive coaching processes and report staff issues to Executive Culinary Team/HR
  • Report workplace injuries and follow HR processes
  • Communicate effectively and timely
  • Ensure all areas are set up and broken down according to SOPs
  • Inspect and maintain cleanliness and operation of equipment, place repair orders as needed
  • Hands-on production by prepping, cooking, baking and assembling standardized recipes
  • Follow ParTech and A9 labeling procedures and enforce compliance
  • Lead workflow and production of assigned staff
  • Make service decisions based on product outages and menu changes
  • Assist with ordering and receiving products
  • Obtain and maintain State Food Safety Manager Level Certification, assist staff in certification
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation regulations and safety protocols
  • Work shifts that may include early mornings, nights and weekends
