Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED) completed or in progress
- prior experience in bakery or food service preferred but not required
- basic understanding of bakery product preparation
- customer service skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment with training
- knowledge of sanitation and safety protocols
- ability to work flexible hours
Job Duties
- keep bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand
- smile and greet customers, make suggestions, answer questions about products and cake preparation
- help resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously
- mix, shape, proof, and bake breads, rolls, sweet goods, and cakes
- fill donuts and place into frying oil, flip donuts, remove from oil and cool
- decorate cakes using basic and custom designs
- trim and cut cakes as required
- take customer orders by phone or in person with a positive attitude
- assist in filling, wrapping, pricing, stocking, and merchandising bakery sales area
- pull out of code products and reduce prices for quick sale
- rotate items to ensure freshness
- assist with receiving and storing deliveries with proper training
- maintain general sanitation and follow cleaning schedules
- dispose of trash properly
- cooperate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth department function
- use company provided personal protective equipment
- assist in other departments when called upon
