Job Duties
- Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand
- smiles and greets customers
- makes suggestions and answers questions about products
- helps resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously
- takes customer orders over the phone or in store with a pleasant attitude
- determines customer preferences in size, flavor, and appearance
- sets up special-order tables during peak hours
- sets bakery cases and builds displays as needed
- may write on cakes
- ensures merchandise is fresh, properly priced, and correctly signed
- handles spoiled and damaged products according to company procedures
- removes non-saleable products
- assists with production of breads, pastries, and other baked goods using approved recipes
- maintains general sanitation and follows cleaning schedules
- disposes of trash properly
- assists with receiving and storing deliveries if properly trained
- may operate power jack or hand jack after training
- assists with baling cardboard if trained
- helps minimize shrink and control damages
- reports shortages or overages to manager
- cooperates with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth department function
- continuously improves job performance
- utilizes all company-provided personal protective equipment
- may assist in other departments as needed
