Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current food handler's permit
- Prior experience in a bakery or food service environment preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Capability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Must be able to operate bakery machinery safely
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and team player
- Commitment to excellent customer service
Job Qualifications
- Ability to operate machinery including a label machine, oven, and proof box
- Current food handler's permit
- Must enjoy working with and handling bakery products
- Should have a passion for pastries and other bakery items and enjoy eating them
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures
- Excellent organization and planning skills
- Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills
- Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of the team
- Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission
- Continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, forward focused, and consistent

Job Duties
- Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
- Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
- Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the bakery
- Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
- Ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
- Assists customers with cake and special orders
- Washes and puts away bowls, pans, and baking trays
- Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
- Accurately packages and labels bakery products
- Fills shelves and cases with product
- Re-stocks the bakery department and helps sort and put away bakery products when deliveries come in
- Minimizes waste in the department by following production sheets, watching code dates, and appropriately rotating items
- Assists managers, bakers, cake decorators, and artisan bakers as needed
