Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- one to three months related experience or training
- valid State Food Handlers Permit
- valid Driver's License or State ID card
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- ability to stand for prolonged periods
- capable of clear communication
- ability to operate bakery machinery
- willing to adhere to workplace safety and food handling regulations
- able to read, write, and comprehend instructions
- able to apply common sense and problem-solving skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- reads and comprehends simple instructions and correspondence
- writes simple correspondence
- communicates effectively and pleasantly with guests, vendors, and associates
- performs mathematical calculations using American money, weight, and volume measurements
- applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions and manage problems
- meets state minimum requirements to work with bakery equipment and tools
- holds valid State Food Handlers Permit
- holds valid Driver's License or State ID card
Job Duties
- Reporting for assigned shifts on time and ready to provide excellent service
- promoting sales through active discussions with guests and offering product recommendations
- providing exceptional service by greeting guests and informing them of bakery specials, products, and services
- mentoring new associates and ensuring a positive learning environment
- performing bakery tasks including finishing par bake products, labeling, rotating stock, opening and closing the department, and managing orders
- operating bakery equipment safely and correctly including doughnut fryer, slicer, ovens, and proof box
- communicating and fulfilling guests' special order requests accurately and promptly
- ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and company policies regarding safety, food handling, and guest services
- participating in the Bakery Department's accident reduction and safety programs
