Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current Food Handler's Permit
- ability to operate bakery machinery such as label machines, ovens, and proof boxes
- availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- ability to stand for extended periods
- capability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
- excellent communication skills
- ability to follow established policies and procedures
- attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- Ability to operate machinery including a label machine, oven, and proof box
- current Food Handler's Permit
- must enjoy working with and handling bakery products
- should have a passion for pastries and other bakery items and enjoy eating them
- ability to interpret policies and procedures
- excellent organization and planning skills
- must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with customers and fellow associates
- must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one's own success as well as the success of your team

Job Duties
- Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
- ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
- responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the bakery
- confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
- ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
- assists customers with cake and special orders
- washes and puts away bowls, pans, and baking trays
- delivers excellent customer service to all customers
- accurately packages and labels bakery products
- fills shelves and cases with product
- re-stocks the bakery department and helps sort and put away bakery products when deliveries come in
- minimizes waste in the department by following production sheets, watching code dates, and appropriately rotating items
- assists managers, bakers, cake decorators, and artisan bakers as needed
