Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • ability to work and communicate professionally with all management levels and subordinates
  • self-motivation and problem-solving skills
  • able to perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking
  • ability to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours)
  • able to work in a freezer environment for up to 15 minutes
  • possess technical skills for basic math and computer operations
  • ability to work efficiently at a fast pace
  • maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification
  • willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • accept supervisory coaching
  • ability to function well within a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in retail or bakery operations preferred
  • leadership or supervisory experience a plus
  • strong communication skills
  • basic computer proficiency including Word, Excel, and email
  • knowledge of food safety and handling
  • ability to manage and motivate team members
  • problem-solving and multitasking abilities
  • familiarity with merchandising and inventory processes
  • Certified Food Safety Manager certification is required
  • bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests upon entering the bakery department
  • assist in interviewing, training, scheduling, and managing performance and productivity of department team members
  • communicate information effectively across the department
  • maintain a positive department atmosphere and morale
  • demonstrate leadership through time management and delegation
  • support and execute division concepts and programs
  • contribute to achieving financial goals
  • ensure consistent product quality and availability
  • safeguard and monitor department assets while enforcing policies
  • maintain store cleanliness and safety
  • use department systems and processes correctly
  • collaborate with Department Manager in planning production and promotions
  • assist with coaching and development of team members
  • update department books and manuals
  • coordinate inventory processes and reporting
  • manage department operations in the absence of Department Manager
  • adhere to food safety procedures
  • implement proper product merchandising and display techniques
  • comply with labeling laws and company policies
  • assist in bakery duties such as receiving, cleaning, baking, decorating, and packaging
  • demonstrate conflict management skills
  • perform additional duties as assigned by management
