Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
- Certified Bakery Expert or equivalent preferred
- Completion of H-E-B School of Retail Management (SORM) training or willingness to complete upon hire
- Food Safety certification
- Forklift and power jack training
- Ability to stand and lift 50 pounds occasionally
- Capability to work in varying temperatures including coolers and near ovens
- Ability to work extended hours including weekends and nights
- Ability to multitask and adapt to stressful situations
- Effective delegation and organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- Certified Bakery Expert or equivalent such as Retail Bakery Association-Certified Master Baker
- Completion of H-E-B School of Retail Management (SORM) training
- Experience in leading people, ordering, inventory maintenance, and shrink control
- Food safety certification
- Forklift and power jack training
- Advanced interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
- Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office and H-E-B systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively
Job Duties
- Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Bakery department
- Supervise and train a team of Partners in high-volume bakery production
- Prepare production plans and ensure correct quantities are produced daily
- Monitor showcase production, stales, and maintain product levels
- Manage inventory control, shrink, ordering, and contribute to budget and payroll monitoring
- Execute merchandising programs to drive sales and maintain a large product assortment
- Enforce food safety and sanitation standards consistent with federal, state, and company policies
