Job Requirements
- Attain at least 21 years of age
- Able to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 80 pounds
- Possess manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills
- Able to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
- Able to work in kitchen environment with equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise
- Willingness to work store hours including some weekends
- Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities
Job Qualifications
- Previous management experience or familiarity with bakery department operations
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of bakery products and retail bakery operations
- Ability to plan and organize events and promotions
- Understanding of personnel policies, labor laws and regulatory compliance
- Customer service oriented with problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Manage top line bakery sales and bottom-line profitability of the bakery department
- Lead and develop bakery team by fostering exceptional customer service
- Work cooperatively with Bakery Category Manager and store management to deliver appealing bakery offerings
- Align staffing with emphasis on recruitment and retention to meet operational needs and budget
- Promote bakery offerings through direct and indirect marketing and sales techniques
- Advocate for bakery customers by exceeding their expectations
- Organize custom orders and promotional items through effective communication and record keeping
- Stay knowledgeable of bakery competitors and implement strategies for competitive advantage
- Administer personnel policies and labor laws compliance
- Plan and prepare for seasonal changes, holidays, special events and promotions
- Resolve employee and customer issues proactively
- Perform related duties as assigned
