Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
  • Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping duties
  • Able to operate bakery equipment
  • Able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously
  • Able to transfer items up to 40 lbs without assistance
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • Possess working knowledge of personnel and financial reports.

  • Able to perform general housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing work area
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • Able to stand for extended periods and transfer items weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
  • Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency
  • track inventory and manage the bakery's budget
  • Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
  • Develop improved practices and procedures
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
  • Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
  • Make recommendations on merit increases via performance review process
  • Regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings
  • Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
  • Take and document corrective actions including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when needed
  • Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • Lead a team to deliver the finest quality product and highest level of service
  • Serve as a Key Carrier and/or Manager on Duty as needed.
