Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of retail grocery experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Valid Food Handlers permit
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Experience operating bakery equipment and tools
  • Ability to manage inventory and budget
  • Leadership experience or potential
  • Reliable and dependable work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
  • Demonstrate dependable and reliable work behavior with ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
  • Possess good communication skills with ability to give and take direction in a team environment
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work area
  • Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Knowledge of accurate weighing and labeling of products
  • Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and handle physical demands involving transferring items up to 40 lbs
  • Maintain compliance with safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
  • Hold and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
  • Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
  • Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
  • Develop improved practices and procedures
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
  • Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
  • Make recommendations on merit increases completing the bi-annual performance review process
  • Regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings
  • Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
  • Take and document corrective actions including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when needed
  • Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience
  • Serve as a Key Carrier and/or Manager on Duty as needed
