Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of retail grocery experience
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Valid Food Handlers permit
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Experience operating bakery equipment and tools
- Ability to manage inventory and budget
- Leadership experience or potential
- Reliable and dependable work ethic
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
- Demonstrate dependable and reliable work behavior with ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
- Possess good communication skills with ability to give and take direction in a team environment
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning and sanitizing work area
- Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Knowledge of accurate weighing and labeling of products
- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and handle physical demands involving transferring items up to 40 lbs
- Maintain compliance with safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Hold and maintain a Food Handlers permit
- Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
Job Duties
- Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
- Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
- Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
- Develop improved practices and procedures
- Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
- Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
- Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
- Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
- Make recommendations on merit increases completing the bi-annual performance review process
- Regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings
- Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
- Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
- Take and document corrective actions including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when needed
- Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
- Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience
- Serve as a Key Carrier and/or Manager on Duty as needed
