Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
  • Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers
  • Have good communication skills
  • Able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping, clean and sanitize work areas
  • Able to operate bakery equipment safely
  • Able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously per shift
  • Able to lift and transfer items up to 40 lbs manually
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and food handling regulations
  • Possess or achieve and maintain a Food Handler's permit
  • Flexible and team-oriented

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of 2 years retail grocery experience
  • Demonstrate good communication skills
  • Show outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers
  • Ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
  • Ability to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks safely

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
  • Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
  • Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
  • Develop improved practices and procedures
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
  • Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
  • Make recommendations on merit increases via completing bi-annual performance reviews
  • Regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion and transfer decisions in collaboration with Store Manager
  • Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns
  • Document and take corrective actions when needed including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination
  • Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • Lead a team that delivers the finest quality product, highest service level, and greatest customer experience
  • Serve as Key Carrier and/or Manager on Duty as needed
