Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have outgoing and friendly behavior
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to give and take direction
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation
  • Able to operate bakery equipment
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Adhere to safety, health, and food handling regulations
  • Maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction
  • Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Have outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers
  • Be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
  • Able to operate bakery equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
  • Able to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and food handling regulations
  • Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
  • Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
  • Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
  • Develop improved practices and procedures
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • Manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
  • Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and promotion decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • Take and document corrective actions as needed, including collaboration with HR
  • Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • Lead a team focused on quality product, service, and customer experience
  • Serve as a Key Carrier and/or Manager on Duty as needed
