Job Requirements

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • have a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
  • be dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • have outgoing and friendly behavior
  • possess good communication skills
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department
  • be able to operate bakery and warehouse equipment
  • be physically able to stand and lift as required for up to 10 hours
  • adhere to safety, health, and food handling regulations
  • maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • have knowledge of personnel and sales reports

Job Qualifications

  • be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
  • be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes including night, weekends, and holidays
  • have outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
  • have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction participating in a team environment
  • be able to answer phones and take special orders
  • perform general housekeeping in the department, clean and sanitize work area including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.
  • be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed
  • use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
  • be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
  • adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
  • possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals

Job Duties

  • manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
  • supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
  • evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement
  • ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
  • execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
  • manage department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
  • plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
  • engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions
  • regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings
  • recruit, hire and make promotion or transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
  • confidently exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns
  • take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance
  • ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels
  • communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
  • lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive
  • serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty as needed
